TAIMS Interior

Ambience is key to the lovely three-bedroom unit. It is dusky without being gloomy, swanky and luxurious but still personal and cosy. The design was helmed by Jael Ang who demonstrates a talent for matching and balancing opposites- the dark and heavy is always eased with the light, the hard mediated with the soft, and the sober enlivened with the expressive. The design scheme is first introduced in the living area where black and white have been artfully blended and punctuated by bits of gold. Defining the feature wall is a composition of roughly finished black tiles, laid slightly unevenly to create texture. At its base, a console answers the need to house the entertainment system elegantly while an L-shaped slider, finished in gold, glamorizes the sober all-black set-up as it also allows the system to be shielded from sight when not in use. In the master bedroom, cubic patterns spread out entrancingly overhead, turning the ceiling into a visual feast in itself. In the guest room, windows dressed in shimmery gold fabric share the spotlight with and art piece on an adjacent wall.
