Design Laboratory is a radical and concept-driven interior consultancy that is spearheaded by Mark Tan. Rich experience in both art direction and interior design form the foundation of this entity. Its many core values are centered on the vision that it is never the quantity but quality that counts.

Design Laboratory Pte Ltd based its design philosophy largely on 3 considerations: (1) Each space tells a ‘Life Story’ and defines an activity by itself. To design without thinking is equivalent to a ‘Lifeless’ space. (2) They embrace a unique view point, the client’s. The ability to marry the client’s ideal with structured work methodology to achieve that timeless masterpiece that always leaves a big grin on the client’s face. (3) They approach a project by considering it in its next larger context. "A chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an environment in a city plan." They believe in thinking big and having big ideas.
